Give Some Thought To Ebike Usage

Give Some Thought To Ebike Usage

I recently read an article from Malaysia, in which the “call to introduce electric bicycles in the country [was] now being studied at a rather aggressive pace,” by the Malaysia Institute of Road Safety Research.

To that end, the MIROS had published a questionaire, and invited everyone to respond to it.

I thought, perhaps communities here in the US (as well as those around the world, of course) should launch a similiar scheme – see how much the inhabitants know about ebikes – or even bikes – for that matter – and see what can be done to popularize them.

The problem with many communities is of course that roads are too dangerous for bicycles. Motorists, even those who have no problem “sharing the roads” nevertheless do have to cope with bicyclists riding along narrow lanes with no bike shoulder, and should there be any obstructions in the road, that makes it even more dangerous.

Here’s the questionaire that people were invited to answer. See if you can adapt it to suit your needs.
